Why does he have a gash on his head? Check out the video to find out.

Richard Luthmann, who writes at luthmann.substack.com, and I did our first broadcast on a show which has no title yet.

He and I discussed some current events; he listened to the entire three hour “conversation” between Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

Michael Volpe Investigates is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Then, we got into some of the stories we’ve been covering, starting with the big gash on his head.

Rick was helping a friend during a child custody exchange when her ex- in a drunken rage- attacked him.

Within an instant, I sprung out of the driver’s seat. I stepped in between them, determined to stop him from hurting anyone any further.

“You want to fight somebody, fight a real man, you bitch. Real big man swings on women.”

Frank didn’t take kindly to that. He came at me, and I gave him my face. He struck me hard, and I could feel the pain shoot through my head. I steeled up, and we grappled.

Before I knew it, we were on the ground. But I wasn’t going to let him get past me. I was there to protect a woman and her child, and that’s what I did.

I had Frank subdued on the ground, both hands behind his back, going for wrist control. I thought he had calmed down. That’s my fault. Every one of my cop buddies tells me that’s why you fully subdue a violent person. I tried to let the idiot go, and he cracked me with the back of his head several times, opening up my forehead. It wasn’t pretty.

It’s gets worse. This guy then decided to call the cops, claiming Rick was trespassing on his property.

After investigating, the cops charged the assailant, however he had high tailed it to a hospital, claiming injury from the confrontation.

He was eventually apprehended. Rick’s gash was treated by a doctor who left dinner plans to treat him.

All is well that ends well, but this man is dangerous and should be locked up for a while for this stunt.

Next, we talked about an explosive lawsuit from my neck of the woods. Gwen and Grace Girard have filed a civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) lawsuit, alleging that their mother’s lawyers at the Beermann Law Group, along with numerous judges and even some cops are all part of a bribery scheme. Their father, Kent Girard, and their step-mother, Marissa Girard, are also plaintiffs.

The lawsuit further alleges that a Glencoe, Illinois detective has been protecting Kent’s ex-wife, Jane Girard. I wrote about this custody case last year.

Earlier this summer, I wrote about how Kent found an Apple Air Tag under his car. He is certain that Jane put it there, and Glencoe Police tracked the Air Tag to Jane, but she was never charged.

Gwen and Grace have accused their mother of sexual assault as well. The detective investigating both cases is Glencoe Detective Ryan McEnerney, McEnerney is listed as a defendant in the lawsuit, and he is accused of taking bribes.

As you can see from the snippet above, the term “upon information and belief” is used liberally in the lawsuit. This is the legal equivalent of “according to anonymous sources.” Rick and I debated if it was good for the legal system to allow the liberal use of “upon information and belief.”

We also talked about my recent interview with Whitney Thompson. Her story can be summed up by the interview with her ex-husband’s attorney, Jenna Conley.

Her ex-husband, Chuck Thompson, has tried to commit suicide twice in the last year and he’s accused of child molestation. Still, a Missouri Judge, Robert Heggie, gave him sole custody.

We also updated on Ada County, Idaho Judge Diane “Mengele” Walker. She loves giving custody to abusers, but she also has no use for open courtrooms, despite what the Idaho constitution says.

Courts of justice shall be open to every person, and a speedy remedy afforded for every injury of person, property or character, and right and justice shall be administered without sale, denial, delay, or prejudice.

On July 30, 2024, Judge Mengele held a hearing to decide if she should seal the whole case. Veronica Baiz was one of the women featured in the original story, and her ex-boyfriend, Kyle Engels, was none too happy that I dared write about his case. He wrote a motion largely complaining about me.

Since this hearing was about me, I thought I should get a copy. I reached out to the Ada County Clerk of Court, and they told me that Judge Mengele had sealed this hearing.

I have attached a Request to Inspect form as this case is sealed.

Please complete the form and return to this email for Judge Walker’s review.

Judge Mengele hasn’t yet ruled on sealing the whole case, but she has sealed the hearing where they argue about sealing the whole case.

Judge Mengele is up for reelection in November, so this could be construed as election interference.

Finally, we talked about Paul Boye, who we both agree should not be in jail.
