The Unknown Episode 36

Richard Luthmann and I discussed more legislative movement on family courts in Arizona.
Arizona Republican State Senator Mark Finchem

Richard Luthmann and I were back talking about the Pope’s death, the troubles of the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) Pete Hegseth, and Tesla earnings.

In the What the Hales segment, we discussed an unethical deposition conducted by Jeremy Hales’ attorney, Randall Shochet. Shochet deposed Amanda Martin in February 2025. Martin was the victim’s advocate for Michelle Preston, when Preston filed a protective order against Hales.

Hales is suing Preston for defamation and other charges, however, the lawsuit has nothing to do with the protective order. Shochet deposed Martin because Hales and Martin have a personal beef, and the deposition humiliated her. My (former friend) Megan Fox was happy to partake in the humiliation.

Bruce Matzkin, who until recently represented Preston and John Cook in the lawsuit, filed motion for lawyer fees.

In his response, Shochet failed to explain how the deposition related to the lawsuit.

Shochet made a false statement, claiming that Martin was also involved in a separate protective order Hales took out in Ohio, and he has not fixed that error yet. Even with the error, Martin’s testimony didn’t relate to the lawsuit.

Both Richard and I stated that Shochet would pay significant lawyer fees; Magistrate Bolitho has not ruled on this motion yet.

Then, we discussed the current legislative renaissance for family court in Arizona. Last year, the state passed SB 1372, which banned reunification camps. Check out the hearing for SB 1372 below.

Republican State Senator Mark Finchem organized a Legislative Ad Hoc Committee on Family Court Orders on April 14, 2025.

Another hearing is scheduled for May 12.

Also, HB 2256 was introduced. HB 2256 would ban court appointed therapeutic interventionists.

On the broadcast, I predicted that Arizona was headed toward becoming the first state to ban all court appointees in family law.

This is something I’ve favored since I conjured up the Elaine Pudlowski Act. Check out the video below, when I first proposed it to my {former friend} Megan Fox in 2021. It’s cued up.
