Richard Luthmann and I were back for the 32nd edition of The Unknown. We started out with Signalgate, and as always, Mr. Luthmann defended the administration blindly.
He even called releasing classified war plans playing 4D chess.
TRUMP’S 4-D CHESS MASTERSTROKE: THE LEAK THAT WASN’T
What the Radical Left Lunatics would call the “now-infamous Signal chat” included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz.
Suddenly, The Atlantic’s rabid anti-Trump editor, Jeffrey Goldberg, was “accidentally” added. The chat detailed U.S. strikes on Iran-backed Houthi rebels and blasted Europe’s refusal to pay its fair share.
Goldberg predictably leaked it. It went exactly as planned.
“Classic counterintelligence,” an intel source said. “They baited Goldberg. He drove it straight to the heart of the media cycle.”
Speaker Mike Johnson praised the Yemen mission: “Accomplished with precision.”
But the bigger win was strategic—America is done footing Europe’s defense bill.
“We carry ALL the burden. They enjoy ALL the benefits,” White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said.
Mr. Luthmann argued that this sent a signal- pardon the pun- to Europe that they needed to take responsibility for areas which were their spheres of influence. Vice President JD Vance made that point in the discussion which was released by The Atlantic’s Jeff Goldberg.
I called this a “disaster” which was made worse by the obfuscation in the aftermath.
Richard and I also discussed Elon Musk’s latest political gambit; he’s making a play in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race.
Wisconsin’s April 1 Supreme Court race is on track to become the most expensive judicial election contest in American history. The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign (WDC), a watchdog group that monitors electioneering in the state, says that the total spending on the contest could reach as high as $100 million. That’s thanks not only to the more traditional campaigns of the two contenders for the open seat on Wisconsin’s high court—progressive Dane County Judge Susan Crawford and right-wing Waukesha County Judge Brad Schimel—but also to jaw-dropping spending by billionaire-funded groups making so-called “independent expenditures.”
In particular, groups funded by Elon Musk.
Samantha De Forest-Davis, the research director for the WDC, reports that independent spending in this year’s court contest is 103 percent above where it was at this point in the high-stakes 2023 race that was won by liberal Justice Janet Protasiewicz. Protasiewicz’s victory gave the court a 4–3 liberal majority for the first time in decades. This year’s contest—to fill a seat being vacated by a retiring liberal justice—will decide whether the highest court in the nation’s ultimate swing state will remain liberal or flip back to the right.
The stakes are high. And the through-the-roof spending reflects that reality.
“These numbers just continue to increase daily,” De Forest-Davis told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, pointing out that, as of two weeks before the April 1 election, the democracy campaign has counted $29.24 million in independent expenditures. At the same point in the 2023 campaign, the independent expenditure figure was $14.41 million.
A substantial portion of the spending—a reported $13.2 million, as of Tuesday—comes from a new player in Wisconsin politics who happens to be the richest man in the world. Musk, who has emerged as the key player in the Republican administration of President Donald Trump, made his preference for Schimel public in January. It was then that he took to his social media platform, X, to promote Schimel’s candidacy with a declaration that it is “very important to vote Republican for the Wisconsin Supreme Court”—not knowing, apparently, that Wisconsin Supreme Court races are officially nonpartisan and do not feature Republican or Democratic ballot lines.
The article quoted is the liberal The Nation, so the tenor is that this is bad that the richest man in the world is throwing his political weight around.
I argued that this continued Musk’s remarkable influence odyssey. I said this was unprecedented, however, Richard pointed out that Musk was taking the lead from another billionaire, George Soros, who also got involved politically on the local, national, and international level.
In the What the Hale$ segment, which started at 23:30 of the broadcast, we first played this disturbing video.
Hales, who is suing at least ten people already, threatened to sue another YouTuber and his girlfriend’s sister in the video. His girlfriend was clearly uncomfortable and called him “sue happy.”
He also mad another bigoted comment, claiming Arabic women are controlling. His girlfriend was born in the US, so it’s not clear how that’s relevant.
Hales has referred to Bruce Matzkin, a Jew, as deuce foreskin, something Rabbi Jacob Bellinsky and others have condemned.
We also discussed two alleged astroturfers who have taken an interest in me. One, Mary, wrote several bizarre emails which I suspect were to create engagement. Here’s one.
how is your day going kiddo? I just got done planting flowers and trimming my bush. i would have responded sooner but it took sometime to find my readers. after an hour of searching i found them under the ottoman. then i made homemade chicken pot pie for my chester. would you like my recipe?
i’ve been knee-deep in this youtube station nonsense, my grandson christopher finally taught this old bat how to work it during the laura owens case. did you watch that show? my chester and i have been faithful listeners of her dad, ronn owens. we couldn’t believe he was letting his daughter make all those false allegations at those young gentlemen. right now i’m watching mrs megan fox, the umbrella man, mr bone crushers, whatthehales, miss tori’s leather making and a few other stations. it’s my new obsession when i’m nursing my martini and yelling at dukie to get off the upholstered
couch.
you said you didn’t know who george was. she’s jeremy’s girl. they’re out there buying storage units like it’s bingo night at the senior center, then salesing it on the ebay thing. they got a boat load of followers…maybe 700k? that’s more people than i’ve got aches in my knees! she’s the live wire, gabbing about their hauls like she’s spilling tea at the beauty parlor. we’re talking moth-eaten junk, creepy knickknacks, or that time they busted open a safe stuffed with cash! i nearly dropped my dentures! my grandson christopher set me up a netflix youtube list so i can watch their older shows on my tv. the coin pushers are a hoot too.
they live between ohio and florida like a couple of retirees, and they’re hooked on digging up treasures. plus, they toss some bucks at egyptian orphans and other wonderful causes, which makes me feel less guilty about my gin budget. george has this sassy, cut-the-crap vibe that keeps me glued. she’s dealt with cancer twice, i reckon. mike, you gotta watch all the old “whatthehales.” it’s a riot for me and my chester.
holler if you watch the one that had me snorting gin out of my nose!
Another, Jay Hip, has a new YouTube channel and more than half the videos are about me.
When asked to come on our show, to insult us to our faces, he declined.
Good Morning,
Thank you and I really appreciate the offer. I do not see a gain for me to be on your stream though. I know it will probably bring in large numbers for your channel for a change, and I am sure it would be your largest viewed stream to date. However, subjugating my viewers to have to watch me on your channel seems unfair to them. If you can figure out where there would be a benefit for me, please share with me.
All the best,
Jay can spin all he wants, but he’s too cowardly to say to our faces what he says comfortably on his show.
Then, we discussed a recent lawsuit filed by Andrew and Tristan Tate and discussed how frivolous it was.
The Tates claimed a band of Twitter accounts conspired together to falsely label them as rapists and traffickers.
It’s akin to an anti-Tate ecosystem: where have we heard that before?

The lawyer who filed the lawsuit on the Tate’s behalf is Thomas Maniotis. I reached out to him by email, but he didn’t respond.
The lawsuit argued that the Tates were falsely accused of rape, human trafficking, and other crimes.
The problem for Mr. Maniotis is that Andrew Tate has admitted to all these crimes in videos viewed by millions. It is what criminal lawyer Bruce Rivers calls “self snitching.”

Rivers has done several videos on the Tates including the one below. I have cued it up to the appropriate portion.
Rivers defined sex trafficking as illegal sex using force, fraud or coercion. In a separate video, Andrew Tate boasted about using all three methods.
Right at the beginning, Tate claimed he made most of his money in “the pimp game.”
At 12:30 of the video, Tate stated that he would beat up women to force them to continue in his sex trade, and at 47:30 he claimed he would make women fall in love with him and then convince them to do web cams, the lover boy method.
Finally, Monica Ciardi is out of jail, but Mr. Luthmann argued she may have still gotten a raw deal.
Faced with mounting charges and the threat of decades behind bars, Ciardi accepted a plea deal last week. She pleaded guilty to a third-degree charge and was released with no additional jail time.
However, the deal reportedly includes a “non-disparagement” clause—effectively gagging her from discussing the case or the players involved.
“We don’t know exactly what ‘non-disparagement’ means in this deal,” Weigel said. “Monica told me she can’t say anything more.”
Richard argued on the broadcast that the deal she pled guilty to all but guaranteed she would not see her kids again until they aged out of the system, if at all.
