Sean "Diddy" Combs an equal opportunity rapist, according to new affidavit
The affidavit also currently implicates a well-known Michigan prosecutor in the coverup.
By now, unless you have been living entirely under a rock with no connection to anything, you are aware of the downfall of rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Starting with a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend last year, he had a precipitous downfall and is currently in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Brooklyn, New York.
He’s facing racketeering charges, among others, meaning prosecutors will argue that his crime spree is akin to an organized criminal enterprise.
One lawsuit which has not received that much attention is from Derrick Lee Smith, currently an inmate at the Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility in Muskegon Heights, Michigan.
Smith won an astounding $100 million, arguing that Combs sexually assaulted him.
He won that judgment by default, but in late September 2024, Combs attorney, David Fink, argued successfully to have the judgment overturned. Fink argued that Combs was not served with the suit.
Following the news of his Sept. 16 arrest on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, a judge ruled that the rapper no longer has to pay over $100 million to Michigan inmate Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, who was suing Combs in an unrelated civil case for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting him in 1997.
Combs was originally ordered to pay the large sum Sept. 9, when a Michigan judge granted Cardello-Smith's motion for default judgment after the music mogul did not appear for a virtual hearing.
However, Diddy's attorney David Fink was able to convince the judge to set aside the judgment during a Sept. 18 hearing on the grounds that Cardello-Smith failed to prove he effectively served Combs with the lawsuit in accordance with Michigan law, according to TMZ.
I reached out to Fink, however, his office said he’s on vacation. I left a message in their general email. I will update with any response.
Because this was a default judgment, the merits of the case have not been adjudicated.
An affidavit filed on September 23, 2024- after the judgment was clawed back- shows in stark detail how Combs and his entourage allegedly assaulted Smith.
