Back in 2022, I discussed how there was a movement of so-called safe parent laws- Greyson’s Law, Kayden’s Law, Kyra’s Law, and more- sweeping the nation.

Since then, Piqui’s Law passed in California. Piqui’s Law, among other things, bans the use of reunification therapy.

Reunification therapy is Nazi like therapy which forces kids to embrace their abusive parent while being told the abuse they suffered is not real. I interviewed Tori Nielsen who was forced to go through this therapy.

Its ban in California is a major step forward in reforming family court.

More recently, Om’s Law is making its way in the Utah legislature.

All the laws are named after children killed by a parent after evidence of abuse by said parent was ignored by the courts.

Om’s Law would make it more difficult for someone who was found to be abusive to get unsupervised visits and also limits the use of reunification therapy.

Just as there are laws which help to reform the system, there are states passing laws which will make things even worse.

In Washington, there was one such proposed law.
