Beatrice “Bea” Rivera has a unique tale of social services trying to take her son.
She lived in Alabama when in the fall of 2020 she was in Virginia on business. While in Virginia, her son, who has autism, ran off, and this started the affair.
After a bruise was found, and her son was taken into custody.
An estranged brother, living in California, saw an opportunity and took her soon from state care in Virginia to California.
A judicial order for Bea came too late; her brother had already taken him.
Months later, in July 2021, Virginia wrestled custody back and she’s been fighting the Virginia system since.
