I hear from parents with all sorts of stories of Child Protective Services caseworkers caseworkers abusing their powers and mismanaging cases.

Interestingly, I often hear complaints that caseworkers create investigations from little to no evidence but also, in other cases, caseworkers will ignore mountains of evidence of abuse to protect a parent.

For instance, Megan Fox and I interviewed Glen Kretzschmar, a parent from North Carolina, in 2021. A caseworker named Beverly Mitchell showed up at his home purportedly over an incident involving his ex-wife. She left, Glen told us, and everything was fine. Then, three hours later, she showed back up with a petition. Starts about thirty-five minutes in.

The cover-up of sexual abuse is especially horrific.

When this cover-up is recorded, it takes on extra significance.

This audio comes from a conversation in Collinsville, Illinois, a town in Madison County.

In Illinois, CPS is referred to as the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
